1 When crushing garlic add the salt you will use in a recipe, it will soften the bulb and make the juicing easier.

12 To make the perfect crispy french fries, cut potatoes into fries, let stand for one hour in cold water, dry thoroughly before frying. Fry in vegetable oil or olive oil for approximately 2 minutes, remove and blot of the grease, then continue to fry them until golden brown. A thermometer will handy to ensure you reach the correct temperature, 325ºF (160ºC) degrees for French fries, 375ºF (190ºC) for shoestring fries. Drain of baking paper

20. Freeze fresh turmeric and ginger in an airtight container. When you need some, just grate the frozen piece.
21. Save your veggie scraps and boil in water for a vegetable stock. This can be stored in the fridge and freezer.
22. After working with garlic, rub your hands vigorously on your stainless steel sink for 30 seconds before washing them. It will remove the odor.
23. When chopping herbs, toss a little salt onto the cutting board; it will keep the herbs from flying around.
